1. Who we are
Watch Society is run by [Company legal name], [Registered address]. We are responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website or app, why, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash) and, if you give one, your phone number.
- Date of birth and state: to confirm you're 18 or over and that we can serve your state.
- Identity check: before your first deposit or withdrawal you verify your identity with our identity verification provider. We keep the result (for example “verified”), the reason if it fails, the provider's reference and the date. The documents and identity numbers you give the provider are held by the provider under its own privacy terms.
- Addresses: the shipping addresses in your address book.
- Bank details for withdrawals, collected and held through our payment processor.
- Messages you send to support.
Information created when you use the service
- Wallet ledger: every deposit, box opening, sell-back, shipping charge, withdrawal, reward and correction, with amounts, dates and references.
- Box openings and items: what you opened, the item you received, its status, and the fairness record for each draw (seed hash, client seed, nonce and roll).
- Orders and shipments: items shipped, delivery address, carrier and tracking.
- Settings: your notification preferences and any spend limit, breaks or self-exclusion you set.
- Device and usage data: IP address, approximate location (country and state, used to check where the service is available), browser type, and the cookies that keep you signed in.
We do not see or store your full card number; card and Apple Pay payments are handled by our payment processor.
3. How we use it
- To run your account, wallet and collection, and to ship your items.
- To check your age, identity and location, as the law require.
- To prevent fraud, money laundering, multiple accounts and misuse of promotions.
- To apply responsible participation tools such as spend limits and self-exclusion, and to spot signs that someone may need help.
- To send you messages you've chosen in your notification preferences, and service messages you can't turn off (receipts, security alerts, shipping updates for orders you placed).
- To answer support requests and improve the service.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. Wallet, payment and identity records are kept after it closes for as long as the law requires for financial, tax and anti-fraud purposes ([retention periods]). Self-exclusion records are kept so we can honour them.
7. Your choices and rights
- Update your personal details, addresses and notification preferences at any time in your profile.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in each one.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, through the contact form. Some records, such as the wallet ledger, must be kept by law even after you close your account.
[Additional rights for residents of states with privacy laws, to be written by counsel]
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and audit logs for staff changes to balances. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Children
The service is only for people aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger; if we learn we have, we close the account and delete what we can.
10. Changes and contact
We'll post any changes to this policy here and tell you about important ones before they take effect. For privacy questions, use the contact form or write to [Privacy contact email], [Registered address].
